Important clarification. Climate advocates often state Arctic Ocean to be ice-free by 2050.

This is only true for *summer* Arctic sea ice. Heck, we may see ice-free summer Arctic pre-2040.

This doesn't mean year-round ice-free Arctic: that's only possible by 2100 with RCP8.5
